PRODUCT INFORMATION

The active substance in ACC is acetylcysteine, which promotes the liquefaction of secretions in the respiratory tract. If after 4-5 days your condition has not improved, you should seek medical help.

Contraindications: Do not take acc if you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. Do not take if you have an intolerance to sugars. Do not take in children under 14 years of age due to the high dosage of the active substance.

Taking other medicines: It is not advisable to take other medicines at the same time as ACC. If necessary, you should contact a doctor. Acetylcysteine reduces the action of antibiotics (tetracyclines, aminoglycosides, penicillins), for this they should be taken separately with an interval of at least 2 hours. This does not apply to medicines containing cefexim and loracarbef. ACC should not be combined with other cough medicines because of the risk of secretion retention. Activated charcoal may reduce the effect of acetylcysteine. The product should not be combined with glycerol trinitrate (a medicine to dilate blood vessels) and carbamazepine.

Pregnancy and lactation: If you are pregnant, think you are pregnant or breast-feeding you should consult a doctor before treatment with ACC.

Driving and using machines: ACC is not known to affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Method of use: For oral use. Dissolve the effervescent tablet in a glass of water and drink immediately after a meal. The tablet can be divided into 2 halves. Never dissolve ACC with other medicines.

Adults and children over 14 years: 1/2 effervescent tablet 2 times a day or 1 effervescent tablet 1 time a day after meals. If there is no relief of the cough or it gets worse within 4-5 days, contact a doctor.

Overdose and dose omission: No serious adverse reactions have been observed with overdose. Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea may occur. However, if you take more than the recommended dose, contact a doctor. If you forget to take a dose, take it in time for the next dose by skipping the forgotten one. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

Possible side effects: If any side effects occur, even those not described, discontinue ACC treatment immediately and consult a doctor. When taken in the recommended doses, side effects are rare. The more serious side effects are Steven – Johnson syndrome. It is expressed as a painful red or purple rash that spreads over the skin and forms blisters. Another severe reaction is Lyell's syndrome (disorders on the mucous membranes and skin, formation of bubbles). These reactions were only found in patients who took acetylcysteine concomitantly with other medicines. Uncommon side effects may affect 1 in 100 people: allergic reactions (rash, itching, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, decreased blood pressure). They can be serious, especially if it is expressed in swelling of the tongue, lips and face. Headache, fever, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the mouth, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, ringing in the ears may occur. Rare side effects may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people: shortness of breath, sudden skin rash, difficulty breathing, fainting (due to hypersensitivity), insomnia, Stephen – Johnson syndrome and Lyell syndrome. Swelling of facial tissues caused by excess fluid may occur with unknown frequency.
